Monagas state is located in a privileged zone in nature, in north eastern Venezuela, north of south America. It has an average extension of 28900 square kilometers, which is about 3.15% Venezuela´s areal exstension.

This state ranks ninth with major areal extension. In those 28900 square kilometers, Monagas shows three major landscapes: green mountains, fertile soils and forests are close to the Orinoco's Delta.
